JC Sur Bask X Georgette Sundown

Nydia is the original mare on the farm, she was bought as a riding horse, but was only greenbroke.   She was Tim's first horse and he literally had to learn how to teach her to be a horse.  She is strong willed and sometimes it is a question of who is teaching who.  Her sire JC Sur Bask was somewhat of a Michigan Racing legend.    He was a Polish Arabian with an impressive racing record his best racing year was 1986, with 12 starts and 12 first place finishes.  Nydia definitely carries on that tradition.  Tim loves to relate the time they were trail riding and came upon a piebold deer and raced it 1/4 of a mile over a field staying neck and neck.  Nydia definitely has will, speed, and stamina, which she has passed on to her daughter and granddaughter.   Her Dam was Georgette Sundown a Palomino Saddlebred.  Nydia and Tim have been on many wonderful trail rides, but unfortunately, she had to be retired as she has developed Cushings Disease.  To date she is sound with few symptoms, but being a metabolic disease we want to insure she quality of life by not taxing her.
